Service Description

The Renoir museum is placed in the heart of a beautiful estate planted with olive and citrus trees offering a breathtaking view down the Cape of Antibes. The setting The Museum Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer is a little gem, inviting a very personal view of the artist, his daily life, and the importance of his family. It was the retreat and final address of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who moved to Cagnes in an attempt to improve his arthritis. The museum's collection; painting, sculptures, artist's studio and furniture constitute the testimony of Renoir's last 12 years of life spent in Cagnes-sur-Mer. Your day Morning sketching in the gardens Take a lovely creative pause with art instructor Mona who will show you the basics of acrylic and oil technique. You will be painting the surroundings of the beautiful Renoir´s garden with the guidance of Mona. After morning session and well-deserved lunch, you can even go into Renoir´s studio and see his brushes and the colours that were the last on his pallet. Lunch After the morning’s creations, you will be invited in close by local restaurant in Haut Cagnes for a light lunch. Afternoon After a short siesta, you will be encouraged to continue with your artworks Practical information Where and when to meet in front of Museum Renoir, Chemin des Collettes, Cagnes sur Mer at 10.00 What to bring Comfortable shoes… and that’s it! All the equipment for painting will be provided - acrylic and oil paints, brushes, wooden tile 30x30 for painting, easel, wipes etc. Language The sketching workshop will be held in French, a great occasion to practice or improve your conversational skills! Art is a universal language anyway Suitable for beginners up to intermediate.No painting experience is required. Our instructor will guide you step-by-step!
