Take a lovely creative walk with art instructor Dominique who will show you the basics of sketching in the beautiful natural park surrounding Etang Fontmerle.

The setting

​

Etang Fontmerle, where you will discover the beauty of nature from an artist’s perspective, observing and sketching trees and flocks of migratory birds. Chapelle Notre Dame de Vie, which is located there, was painted by Winston Churchill and was also where Picasso had his last Workshop. In 1949 Jean Marais and Jean Cocteau were regulars here. Le Manoir de l´Etang, which you can see on the hill, was entirely renovated and is now a sumptuous hotel.

Your day

You will take a leisurely stroll along Canal Siagne and Chapelle de la Vie circa 2 km of walking distance. You’ll stop at 2 or 3 lookout points where Dominique will give you a sketching class. 

By lunchtime, your travelling notepad – “travelogue” - will be full of the mornings’ drawings... your memories captured forever...

Lunch After the morning’s creations, you will certainly not resist a freshly prepared picnic made using local Provencal products such as cheese, delicatessen, quiche, tapenade and local wine or cider.

Practical information

Where and when to meet: on the parking lot, place Fontmerle, by the Chapelle Notre Dame de Vie, Mougins, at 9.45 AM

​

What to bring: comfortable shoes and… that’s it 😊 All the equipment for sketching will be provided - sketching paper, travelling notepad, pencils, etc.

Language

The sketching workshop will be held in French, a great occasion to practice or improve your conversational skills! Art is a universal language anyway and Adela will be there to assist with any translation if required. 

​

Suitable for: beginners up to intermediate.No painting experience is required. Our instructor will guide you step-by-step!
