About the event
The setting
Join us for this Land Art day creation entering the heart of Esterel with Mimosa blossoming. Let yourself be won over by the magic of the site!
The Massif de l'Estérel is definitely a must that should not be missed!
Characterized by the lustre of its red rock that caresses the Mediterranean shores, the Estérel is a low altitude mountain range with steep and irregular slopes, as though chopped up to offer us extraordinary landscapes. Emerging from the earth 250 million years ago, the Massif de l'Estérel covers 320 square kilometres.
Your day
Land art was born in the late 1960s in the United States. It is a desire of some artists to leave their solitary workshop and too restrictive framework of art galleries and museums.
They wanted to work in nature, "in situ" and to be in harmony with the place that surrounded them.
Land art allows us to learn how to observe the plant, mineral, animal environment that surrounds us and to develop its creativity while respecting the natural environment.
It is an ephemeral art: we walk in nature while gathering treasures that attract us, inspire us, or simply please our eyes: wood, earth, stones, flowers, bays, sand, ...
On the way, someone finds a suitable place for the creation, then we start to create with the natural elements which we collected.
We take a cliché of this work if we wish, then we say goodbye, leaving it to erosion and natural elements such as wind, rain, ...
