Museum Renoir, Chemin des Collettes, 06800 Cagnes-sur-Mer, France

About the event

The Renoir museum is placed in the heart of a beautiful estate planted with olive and citrus trees offering a breathtaking view down the Cape of Antibes.

The setting

The Museum Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer is a little gem, inviting a very personal view of the artist, his daily life, and the importance of his family.  It was the retreat and final address of the painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who moved to Cagnes in an attempt to improve his arthritis. The museum's collection; painting, sculptures, artist's studio and furniture constitute the testimony of Renoir's last 12 years of life spent in Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Your day

Morning sketching in the gardens

Take a lovely creative pause with art instructor Mona who will show you the basics of acrylic and oil technique. You will be painting the surroundings of the beautiful Renoir´s garden with the guidance of Mona. After morning session and well-deserved picnic, you can even go into Renoir´s studio and see his brushes and the colours that were the last on his pallet.

Lunch After the morning’s creations, you will certainly not resist a freshly prepared picnic made using local Provencal products such as cheese, delicatessen, quiche, tapenade and local wine or cider.

Afternoon

After a short siesta, you will be encouraged to continue with your artworks
